Sichuan House: A Taste of Authentic Szechuan Cuisine in Walnut Creek, CA

Humongous portions, very flavorful. We wanted to try a couple different things and were not prepared for how much food would appear! Our favorite was the thick, round noodles served with lots of veggies.

Sichuan is a style of Chinese cuisine originating from Sichuan Province. This style of food has bold flavours, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of garlic and chili peppers, as well as the unique flavour of Sichuan pepper. Sichuan House offers a full menu of spicy specialty dishes. Most Chinese restaurants serve Cantonese style dishes which are milder. It was a chilly day and we started our meal with hot and sour soup. It was seasoned perfectly and had so many yummy veggies! We ordered the spicy fish soup and this spicy cold jelly. The flavors were perfect! Everything was very good! Wonderful service and I think the price is very fair for the quality. I loved that it wasn’t too busy and we could enjoy our meal without feeling rushed.

We've been about a dozen times now and Sichuan House never disappoints. The orange chicken we got last night was completely amazing. Definitely recommend. :)

A typical Chinese restaurant for western people. Quiet. Clean bathroom. Spicy Sichuan food! But you can choose non-spicy food as well. It opens on Christmas Eve, while most other restaurants closed.

Had a great lunch at Sichuan House and it definitely hit the spot. The potstickers were outstanding , perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside. But what really made it next level was the garlic spicy sauce that came with them. That sauce was spectacular -bold, garlicky, with just the right kick of heat. I could’ve ordered extra just for that alone.

Whether I'm eating there in person or getting food to go, I'm never disappointed by this restaurant. The staff is so attentive and very kind. I can't think of a place that prepares their fried foods as great as them. If you're unsure what to order, I highly recommend their Honey Walnut Prawns and their Crispy Spicy Beef. They also have a wonderful lunch special and a wide variety of options on their menu. Their food is delicious and it's a great place if you're looking to get a quick meal during your lunch break. They also package their to-go food well. I'm never concerned that food will spill or leak on my drive back home. They are located in a great spot that has plenty of parking around the restaurant. They also have dim sum and soup dumplings!
